Mi nombre es Martina Bacoccoli pero a veces me llaman "Honey".
Soy de Milán, Italia, donde nací el 12 de mayo de 1995. He sido maquilladora por poco más de 4 años.
Mis mayores pasiones en la vida, aparte del maquillaje, son bailar, dibujar y viajar. Tengo mucho amor por los animales, ¡adoro pasar tiempo con mis gatos!

Uno de mis sueños en la vida es mudarme a los Estados Unidos, posiblemente a la ciudad de Nueva York. Sé que la situación actual en los EE. UU. no es la mejor, pero ese es el único lugar donde me he sentido en casa (nunca he sentido que pertenezco a mi propio país).

Me encanta aprender sobre diferentes culturas, ver documentales, ver verdaderos programas de crimen y comer mucha comida con mis amigos.

¿Hace cuanto tiempo has sido fanática de Michael Jackson?

He sido fanática de Michael Jackson por más de 11 años. Es una historia un poco triste, porque me hice fanática cuando anunció su gira This is It, así que solo unos meses antes de su fallecimiento. Tenía 13 años en ese momento y obtuve mi boleto para This is It. Estaba tan feliz de saber que iba a verlo, pero todos sabemos cómo fue.

¿Cómo se te ocurrió hacer tu arte labial?

Estuve trabajando para un famoso maquillador hace unos años. Solía ​​filmar videos de maquillaje y escribir artículos para su sitio web. Seguí viendo fotos geniales de arte labial en línea, así que decidí probarlo y publicar un artículo al respecto, ¡y fue cuando todo comenzó! Creo que mi primer arte labial fue inspirado en impresiones africanas.

¿Dónde aprendiste tu técnica?

¡Improvisé y funcionó, por suerte! Solo hice lo que pensé que era mejor. Todavía tengo mucho que aprender y mejorar, pero este ha sido un viaje muy divertido y quiero ver a dónde me lleva a continuación.

¿Cuánto tiempo te lleva pintar tus labios con un álbum de Michael?

Realmente depende de la portada del álbum o la imagen que voy a pintar en mis labios. Los trabajos más difíciles que he hecho hasta ahora son Dangerous, Blood On The Dance Floor, Moonwalker, Captain EO y Victory. Estos me tomaron alrededor de 4-5 horas cada uno solo para los labios. Los looks más fáciles me llevan unas 2 horas.

Me han dado diferentes opiniones, cada uno tiene su favorito. Mis looks favoritos personales de MJ que he hecho hasta ahora son probablemente Blood On The Dance Floor, Dangerous, Moonwalker, HIStory, Captain EO, Invincible y Victory. Sin embargo, a veces también hago trabajos no relacionadas con MJ, ¡y me gusta un poco cómo salieron los Ghostbusters, Stranger Things y Harry Potter!

¡Si! Entonces, también tengo una cuenta de arte en Instagram. Meses atrás, publiqué una foto de uno de mis dibujos en mi perfil principal y luego la publiqué en mi perfil artístico unos días después.
Alguien comentó la imagen en mi cuenta de arte diciendo que esa imagen ya había sido publicada por otra persona, así que básicamente diciendo que robé la imagen. Poco sabían que ambos perfiles eran míos.
Cuando esto sucedió, estaba trabajando en mi labio "Dangerous" y mi madre entró. Cuando pinto mis labios no puedo hablar normalmente o sonreír, porque los productos que uso se agrietarán.
Pero tenía que decirle a mi madre lo que acababa de pasar porque era muy divertido. Entonces le dije "¡Mamá, alguien me acusó de robar mi propio trabajo!" ¡y decir eso me hizo reír tanto que mi labio se rompió por completo y tuve que pasar mucho tiempo arreglándolo!.

Name and small biography (where are you from? Where do you live? What do you do?)

My name is Martina Bacoccoli but I sometimes call myself Honey.

I’m from Milan, Italy, where I was born on May 12, 1995. I’ve been a make-up artist for a little over 4 years.

My biggest passions in life, other than make-up, are dancing, drawing and traveling. I have so much love for animals, I adore spending time with my cats!

One of my dreams in life is to move to the US, possibly New York City. I know the current situation in the US isn’t the best, but that’s the only place where I’ve ever felt home (I’ve never felt like I belong in my own country).

I love learning about different cultures, watching documentaries, watching true crime shows and eating lots of food with my friends.

How long have you been a fan of Michael Jackson?

I’ve been a fan of Michael Jackson for over 11 years. It’s kind of a sad story, cause I became a fan around the time he announced his This is It tour, so just a few months before he passed. I was 13 at the time and I got my ticket for This is It. I was so happy knowing I was going to see him, but we all know how that went.

How did you come up with doing your lip art?

I was working for a famous make-up artist a few years ago. I used to film make-up videos and write articles for his website. I kept seeing cool pictures of lip art online, so I decided to give that a try and post an article about it, and that was when it all started! I think my first lip art ever was one inspired by African wax prints.

Where did you learn your technique?

I improvised and it worked, luckily! I just did what I thought was best. I still have a lot to learn and improve, but this has been such a fun journey and I wanna see where it takes me next.

How long does it take you to paint your lips with a Michael album?

It really depends on the album cover or picture I’m going to paint on my lips. The hardest looks I’ve done so far are Dangerous, Blood on the Dance Floor, Moonwalker, Captain EO and Victory. These took me about 4-5 hours each just for the lips. Easier looks take me about 2 hours.

What is your best work of all that we have seen?

I’ve been told different opinions, everyone has their own favorite. My personal favorite MJ looks I’ve done so far are probably Blood on the Dance Floor, Dangerous, Moonwalker, HIStory, Captain EO, Invincible and Victory. I also sometimes do non-MJ related looks though, and I kinda like how the Ghostbusters, Stranger Things and Harry Potter ones came out!

Someone close to Michael ever saw your art?

Luckily, yes! I often talk to TJ Jackson, he’s one of the kindest, most adorable human beings I’ve ever talked to. He’s just amazing. We actually met in 2013 after a 3T concert but only got to know each other through Instagram in late 2019. He has seen my MJ lip art looks and I’ve also done three looks for his own songs “I Don’t Deserve This”, “Obsession” and “Last Night”. I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to interact with him, he has definitely made my life better and I’m so thankful to him.

Also, Tito Jackson liked my video of the Victory lip art on Instagram, that was awesome too!

Any anecdote you have with your lips?

Yes! So, I also have an art account on Instagram. Months ago, I posted a picture of one of my drawings on my main profile and then posted it on my art profile a few days later.

Someone commented the picture on my art account saying that picture had already been posted by someone else, so basically saying I stole the picture. Little did they know both profiles were mine.

When this happened, I was working on my Dangerous lip art and my mom walked in.

When I paint my lips I can’t really talk normally or smile, cause the products I use will crack.

But I had to tell my mom what had just happened cause it was so funny. So I told her “Mom, someone just accused me of stealing my own drawing!” and saying that made me laugh so hard that my lip art totally cracked and I had to spend a lot of time fixing it!
